ProcessOf NeuropsychologicalAssessment

What To Expect From A Neuropsychological Assessment At Centres Neuropsy?

Unlike other centers that condense the evaluation process into a single long day, the neuropsychological evaluation process at Centres Neuropsy generally takes place over 4 meetings spread over a few weeks. This method allows us to obtain the best possible performance from an individual, and allows us to distinguish between fatigue and cognitive weaknesses. The number of sessions required for each evaluation depends on the nature of the concerns and the child's abilities. The evaluation can therefore be spread over 3, 4 or 5 sessions, but the average evaluation requires 4 sessions.

1st session

Tracing the patient's developmental history.

A first 60-minute meeting is scheduled for the client with the neuropsychologist. In cases where the client is a child under 14 years of age, this first meeting takes place only in the presence of the parents and the neuropsychologist. During this session, the neuropsychologist will trace the patient's developmental history and detail the nature of their concerns and/or complaints. From this moment, they can issue working hypotheses that will guide the type of evaluation and the selection of tests to be administered.
